We started our day at the IWK at 6:30 for admitting. Around 8 am they wheeled her away for her operation. She was fused from T4 to T12, and only about 1/2 pop can of blood loss with the minimally invasive surgery. We were told at 3:45 that she was in recovery. What a relief to get that call !! Lauryn was such a brave girl! We are so proud of her. She is amazing.
This morning at admitting...
Lauryn with her hospital gown on and they gave her gowns for her Teddy's too.
Here she is with her two surgeons - such caring guys!!! She couldn't have been in better hands. : )
Thanks to all our dear friends for making the trip down to Halifax to be with us. It sure helped make a rough day go faster. We love you all. Thanks so much for being there.
This is Lauryn when she is in recovery - pretty sleepy!! (She has a tight grip on her PCA !!!) lol.
Lauryn was wheeled up to her room around 6:15 PM. Long day, but happy with the results.
I'll post more tomorrow.
Lauryn, we are so proud of you for going through with the surgery! See you soon!
